Another Christmas, 2015

It’s almost Christmas Day, but still Christmas Eve for a few more minutes….

I wanted to wish all of you readers a very Merry Christmas and let you know I appreciate you reading here.

Things are very quiet at my little homestead in the country; I’m all alone here except for my assortment of animal friends, the fur-family.

My daughter is away at the hospital dealing with her Bipolar Disorder. Thankfully, she is receiving a new medication and I pray that this time we’ll find the right recipe that will work with her particular body chemistry and allow her to be happy and productive in her life again. She’s been suffering for a very long time now and having a terrible daily living experience. May our Father in Heaven give her peace and allow her a beautiful life that she can appreciate. I will be thankful just to have her back home again, though every caregiver needs time to recuperate and recover. I thank God for allowing me this time of peace and rest to myself the last few days, but it’s Christmas; I’m ready for my young lady to be back in her home, watching Christmas movies and drinking eggnog, etc., while we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

I hope this brief update finds all of you living well and loving even better!

There is so much hate, angst, and downright evil in the world right now. We have to combat that with the beauty of Jesus Christ ilumminating the murky darkness. We are the flashlight He shines through, please remember that!

Love a lot, everybody!

Merry Christmas,

Adrienne

What Jesus Taught

Posted by: the warrioress | December 4, 2015

Die By the Sword

“Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.”

Matthew26:52

Christendom is caught up with the angry, fearful world’s demand to turn America into a nation of civilian soldiers at the ready. We will become a modern-day “Gunsmoke,” if some have their way.

Everyone will be carrying concealed weapons, where ever my feet may tread.

As I watch from my window seat, I’m astonished that Christ’s very own, His special born again-chosen, have blood lust in their eyes and hearts.

They are quite literally terrified! So much for faith.

Of what?

Terrorism. Domestic terror even. Threats of physical harm and real murders plotted and carried out by America’s enemies.

“Don’t take our guns from us!” they scream in anguish and wrath. “I will protect myself and my family!”

“The President is a traitor. He doesn’t care about me!” “The President is evil. He is an evil Muslim. Impeach him!”

The macho promises of vengeance and their rage ring out, assuring all of us in America that they will go down fighting; for they are now in control.

No thought to God from what I can see. No thought to see what God may have said.

“We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone. See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people.  Rejoice always.”  1Thes 5:16

“You have heard that it was said, ‘AN EYE FOR AN EYE, AND A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH.’
“But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek; turn the other to him also. If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat also.”  Matthew 5:38-40
Do not say, “I’ll pay you back for this wrong!” Wait for the LORD, and he will avenge you. Proverbs 20:22

Do not say, “I’ll do to them as they have done to me; I’ll pay them back for what they did.” Proverbs 24:29
“You shall not murder.” Exodus 20:13

“‘Do not pollute the land where you are. Bloodshed pollutes the land, and atonement cannot be made for the land on which blood has been shed, except by the blood of the one who shed it. Numbers 35:33

“You shall not murder.” Deuteronomy 5:17

And now…we read what God has said.  Above.

God has been very clear, but there are those who want to argue; they must have their way!

“We know better,” they’ll tell me.

“We know what God really meant!  Jesus doesn’t want us to lay down and be killed.  No, we’ll interpret this the way WE want to.”

“Shut up!  You’re a liberal. You’re not a Christian.  Don’t try to push that pacifist stuff onto me.”

But they mocked God’s messengers, despised his words and scoffed at his prophets until the wrath of the LORD was aroused against his people and there was no remedy. 2 Chronicles 36:16

“You serpents, you brood of vipers, how will you escape the sentence of hell? “Therefore, behold, I am sending you prophets and wise men and scribes; some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city, so that upon you may fall the guilt of all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.  Matthew 25:33-35

“And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.” Isaiah 2:4

More Cross Scriptures:
Genesis 9:6
“Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind.

Exodus 21:12
“Anyone who strikes a person with a fatal blow is to be put to death.

Revelation 13:10
“If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity they will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword they will be killed.” This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God’s people.

 Exodus 20:13
“You shall not murder.

Exodus 21:12
“Anyone who strikes a person with a fatal blow is to be put to death.

Leviticus 24:17
“‘Anyone who takes the life of a human being is to be put to death.

Please also read this posting that I wrote a couple of years ago on this topic; I have grown a lot since then, but it’s still very interesting and  useful, I think.

Christ-like Tolerance

Tolerance is often misunderstood.

Tolerance does not mean acceptance of someone else’s views, beliefs, or actions. Tolerance means we listen, hear, and try to understand; it means we respect an individual’s right to their own opinions and points of view — it doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t face, rebuke, or disagree with the person.  As Christians, we must do this in love. We can tolerate wrong-thinking, but still point out the truth in a Christ-like manner. Jesus often confronted others, especially His disciples and the religious leaders of the time. He stood up for His beliefs and attempted to guide through His parables and teachings to attempt to offer clarity, and to help others see the “RIGHT WAY.”

Unfortunately, there were stubborn people listening who were not really hearing Jesus; their hearts could not hear or see; their minds were made up and were closed and locked against the teachings of Jesus Christ; Jesus knew this. He knew that there would always be those who defiantly refused to grow and learn what He was trying to teach; this is the same now in our world today.

I tend to get frustrated with those who refuse to recognize the teachings of Jesus Christ within the very bible they claim they believe in. They want to argue, not think on Christ’s teachings deeply and allow their heart to grow into Christ and what He wants from each one of us in our daily living experience. There comes a point that I have to accept someone’s refusal to hear me and just accept that they are not yet where He wants them to be. I plant a seed and then must move forward, hoping that they will catch on and catch up in His time, not mine. I try to keep loving and keep praying for whomever it is.  I tolerate, but I never really give up and never stop being willing to be used by God to show His ways, which are clearly in the bible we claim we believe.

People love to throw around bible verses and preach scripture, but are they actually grasping the gist of the bible’s message? Is the bigger picture being understood? It would seem not. Christians today do not understand the simple words “love thy enemies,” or “love thy neighbor as thyself.” Many Christians in this world we live in today want bloodlust, death, and war just like those within the world we live in but are not to be a part of. These “followers of Christ” seem to want to arm everyone with guns and fight things out like in the old West, like cowboys and Indians. Jesus didn’t preach this. Jesus did not advocate violence, killing, and murder.

Jesus was not of this world; we are not to be either if we are truly born again. Our hearts can change. Compassion, mercy, and love can actually reign, as they did in the life Jesus led. Anger, hatred, fear, suspicion, and ignorance are not godly traits; these are not the fruits of the spirit.

Tis The Season…

May God refill my heart with hope, more tolerance, and a new love for those who are ignorant and hateful, who claim to serve Jesus Christ.

efchristi's avatarEd Christian's World

Christmas is coming soon and now, more than ever, is the time to remember the real reason behind it. It is time for reflection and rebirth, not only for ourself, but also for the Nation and the Church.

As we look over the past year we have seen a lack of tolerance, respect for our fellow man and a total disregard for the message Jesus gave us for living our daily lives. Political Correctness is the new norm and hate, fear mongering and total disregard for the Constitutional rights of others is becoming our everyday message. Greed has taken over for charity and there is a total lack of compassion flowing throughout the Country. This starts at our Nation’s Capital, flows through our churches and ends up in the family household. It is what we, the family, are now teaching our children.

I have taught the US Constitution for years…

Really Sad, But True!

FB_IMG_1447840848203

The following is important. It’s written by an individual who shares observations of the last seven years. I hope you’ll read along and consider Mr. Schaeffer’s words. I think God agrees with him.

††††

The Slow Lynching of President Barack Obama

“I’ve just spent the last 7 years writing over 200,000 words in blogs and articles in support of President Obama. My blogs on the Huffington Post alone would add up to a book in support of the President of over 300 pages. Weirdly, I just realized that through all my writing, this has been the first time in my life I’ve personally gone to bat for a black man. It just happens that he’s a president. But my emotional stake in his life is now personal.

So I’ve changed from a white guy who used to read news about some black man getting shot or beaten by cops or stand-your-ground types who assumed that the black man must have “done something,” to a white guy who figures that the black man was probably getting lynched. I’ve changed ideology but I’ve also changed my gut intuitive reactions.

I’ve changed because if this country will lynch a brilliant, civil, kind, humble, compassionate, moderate, articulate, black intellectual we’re lucky enough to have in the White House, we’ll lynch anyone. What chance does an anonymous black man pulled over in a traffic stop have of fair treatment when the former editor of the Harvard Law Review is being lynched?

One famous liberal commentator wrote a book on how Ronald Reagan and Tip O’Neil could disagree and still be friends. Why, he asked on many a TV show promoting his book, couldn’t President Obama be like that? Because, I yelled at the screen, those two men were white Irish Americans and part of a ruling white oligarchy.

Because, I yelled, you might as well ask why Nelson Mandela didn’t talk his jailers in South Africa into seeing reason.

Because, I yelled, the President is black and anytime he’s reached out he’s pulled back a bloody stump.

Because, I yelled, liberal white commentators have been as bothered by a black man in the White House, who’s smarter than they are as much as right wing bigots have been bothered.

Because, I yelled, President Obama has been lied about, attacked, vilified, and disrespected since Day One.

Because, I yelled, this country may have passed laws so blacks can vote and eat in a white man’s world, but in our hearts we’re stuck in a place more like 1952 than 2013.

We’ve been watching a slow motion lynching of a moderate brilliant family man, a father, and faithful loving husband. The Republicans in Congress are so dedicated to lynching the President they’ve been willing to shut down our government and risk the future of our economy.

Evangelical “Christians” have been so stuck on putting a rope around this black man’s neck they have denied their faith and been the backbone of the lying Tea Party who spawned the so-called “birthers” and the rest of the white people driving our news cycle.

Roman Catholic bishops have denied their tradition of helping the poor and been so eager to destroy this president they aligned themselves with white Evangelical bigots and tried to stop health care reform, all because the President wants to give women a fair shake. The bishops even called him “anti-religious” because the president wants insurers to pay for contraception.

This is a slow motion lynching of a black man who is so moderate and centrist that he favored Wall Street enough so that the Left is all over his case. He’s so “radical” and “leftist” and “hates America” so much, and “coddles our enemies” so much, that he killed bin Laden and used drones to kill our enemies. He’s such a “socialist” that he presided over the revival of our economy from the worst recession since the Great Depression, and led us to the present day stock market boom. President Obama is such a “Marxist” that he tried to give insurance – not socialized medicine – to all Americans.

President Obama never answered back to the disgusting southern right wing rubes from the former slave states that have tried to belittle, mock and stymie his presidency shouting “You lie” in a million ways, while actually meaning “You lie, nigger!”

And did the “enlightened” Left have President Obama’s back? No. They carp about his “failure” because a website was slow to get running! The white privileged “progressive” few were too busy blaming him for getting lynched and telling him how to craft policy while a rope was put around his neck again and again and tightened with each filibuster, each lie told on the radio, each self-defeating scorched earth action to stop him from succeeding, even if it meant taking us all down too.

We don’t like to admit who we really are. So we make excuses and blame the victim. I’m ashamed for our country, a country my Marine son fought for in two stupid wars this president has been working to end. And I’m still rooting for the best, smartest and most decent man who has been president in my lifetime. I pray for his health care reform to succeed. I pray for his immigration reform to succeed. I’m amazed he’s gotten anything done, but he has, even while the lynch mob gathers again and again to laugh, lie and spit and claim he’s “failed” while “liberal” commentators nod sagely and talk about his “mistakes” as if President Obama has been playing on a level playing field.

We have a lot to do to heal this country of the damage done by the right wing Obama-haters and the Left wing know-it-all pundits who did not have his back because they don’t have the honesty to admit that we still live in a backward racist swamp of prejudice. Maybe in 50 years our country will be worthy of someone of President Obama’s forbearance again. For now we can just hope that the hatred of the Republican Party for our first black president doesn’t drive us to the brink of ruin again as they strip food from the mouths of the poor, and try to get people to not sign up for health care, just to get even with the black man they swore to destroy from the day that “uppity” black who is smarter than all of them put together took the oath of office.

God bless you Mr. President. I’m praying for you. I am so very sorry. But take heart, in the long reach of history the door you opened will stay open for the millions of Americans of all colors, genders and beliefs who will follow you.

They will bless your name. So will history.”

The Terrified Christian

His mind races in fear.

ISIS is coming to America!

Evil is taking over our country; Obama is an evil Muslim plotting the demise of America!

etc., etc., etc.

2 Timothy 1:7King James Version (KJV)

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Living His Teachings!

FB_IMG_1447018696492

Jesus doesn’t care about the color of our skin or what country we live in. We are valuable to Him, just as we are. We don’t have to be or do anything to be beloved by God.

How could God be in favor of a world where some starve, while others eat and drink to excess? Why do some in the world have to live without clean drinking water or basic shelter, while we have an abundance of both in the United States? Do we believe we are superior to our neighbors in another land?

Can someone claim to follow Jesus Christ and be against feeding and clothing the poorest of the poor across the world, and even within the United States? I think not — not according to your bible.

The Bible says this:
“Behold this was the guilt of your sister Sodom. She and her daughters had pride, surfeit of food, prosperous ease but did not aid the poor and needy. They were haughty and did abominable things before me; therefore I removed them when I saw it.”. -Ezekial 16:49-50

I believe that the most selfish among us, who stand for only themselves and their own will be at a loss when they try to justify their selfish actions and choices some day.

What do you stand for? Whom are you striving to share with? What kind of world are you endeavoring to design for our distant brothers and sisters, who are all beloved by Him? Do you really follow the teachings of Jesus Christ in word, deed, and action in your life?

Fear Mongering and Guns in America

12105865_10156101336590133_1715518884086824674_n

Trite cliché’s and warnings about the president removing our right to bear arms have been sounded every time this country has tried to have a conversation about changing gun laws. Finally, it seems that President Obama has decided to take the initiative to put into law background checks that are actually carried out, a ban on assault rifles, and a limit on magazine ammunition. Also included is a willingness to close the gun show loop-hole and some other sundry non-threatening actions which are nominal at best; included in these is trying to offer better individual citizen mental health information exchanges with other states in a country-wide data base.

How anyone can be against these kinds of safety precautions that are purely common sense, is beyond my ability to comprehend. I’m used to a frantic bias against President Obama, however, since he took office nearly eight years ago.  I’m accustomed to a consistent rebellious cry against him that has been so disgusting, I’ve had to keep my jaw clenched shut. I’ve been afraid to say more than I have thus far or I may get myself into trouble with the good Lord above.

None of the fear mongering being spouted is rooted in anything rational whatsoever. What is, but shouldn’t be, surprising is that the alleged party claiming “pro-life” status only appears to care about life when it hasn’t actually taken a breath outside of a woman’s womb.

12067310_935938389786541_1809001845_n

At any rate, the NRA has a wonderful plan for us. See above.

This was said tongue in cheek.

Common sense regulations are specifically a problem because of Republicans in the Senate who unanimously block modest gun law regulations, like background checks. These Republicans are terrified of the NRA. The portion of Americans supporting this insanity are fear-obsessed. These people are conspiracy theorists, who don’t seem to care about the continued loss of life that has been steadily climbing since the first mass school shooting, Columbine. There have been 45 of these kinds of mass shootings in 2015 so far!

So now I’m hearing that the President is finally going to attempt to begin some minor gun control so that we can stop some of these mass shootings and maybe our children can safely attend our various schools in this nation or see a movie. I pray that logical, rational minds will prevail on this issue.

Walk The Walk

Instead of griping about the Pope and/or President Obama, maybe shoot for walking the talk, American Christians!

efchristi's avatarEd Christian's World

With Grandfather being the Spiritual Leader, I was pretty much raised on the bible and came to know Jesus as my savior early in life. I also learned early in life, that just saying you are a Christian doesn’t make you a Christian. Grandfather made sure I also walked the walk as a Christian to be a living example of Christian life.

Like all of us, I have had a hard life with many pitfalls and rocks in the road. However, I have always been blessed with insight and strength to overcome them. My faith in God has always brought me great comfort and peace.

My Grandfather was a very wise man and set a fine example for me to follow throughout my life. He was always the first to offer help when he saw someone in need. He lead by example and would never ask anyone to do something…
