As Clanging Symbols

Crazy world we live in these days, isn’t it?

It’s difficult to make sense out of the chaos that continues to swirl around us in this world.

In my particular part of the globe, we’re seeing some pretty strange weather; I’m in South Central Texas. We had no winter to speak of this year. It got down to freezing for twenty minutes one night, the whole winter thus far. We finally got a little rain last night for about twenty minutes too. Of course, we’re regularly told by global warming non-believers that this is “normal.” Somehow I don’t feel comforted by their assurances, anymore than I feel pacified every time I listen to Donald Trump preach his plans for running America when he becomes president.

Ahh yes, the political aspects of things in America are just as harrowing, odd, weird, or whatever one wants to call them.

Never in my lifetime have I ever seen so many people willing to put the completely inexperienced an inappropriate into the most powerful position, as leader of the free world.

We are talking about an individual who claims that torture worse than waterboarding is the only way to go, who tosses out vague notions and reassurances of his rulings based upon absolutely nothing concrete. It is absolutely terrifying to listen to Donald Trump and picture what may be ahead for our beautiful America, or the rest of the world, for that matter.

I look around me at a lot of Christians gone absolutely off the deep end. I don’t know what Holy Bible they’ve been subscribing to or reading lately, but these people bear no resemblance to Jesus Christ at all; not sure if they ever really did. Watching their insistence on open-carry weapons, demands for a wall, promises to deport Mexican Americans, and stop Muslim Americans from re-entering the country once they leave, a complete ban on Muslims, a sincere plan to take away the health insurance of millions…..

I wonder how many people are going to just die under the next president.

I have had some real anxiety about all of this.

The continuous titter that Jesus Christ is returning soon, that we’re in the “end of days,” is a dull roar in my ears. I wonder if those heralding His return are ready to explain to Jesus Christ how  and why they have completely altered His message. How will they rationalize their behavior toward the poor, homeless, fatherless children and widows, the in-firmed and disabled, prisoners, etc., based upon what Jesus Christ said their behavior should look like? How will they greet Him when they have become the very monsters they were supposed to be fighting against?

How can they be greedy, violent, gun-obsessed, idol-worshiping, angry mobs who hate the current president and anyone different from themselves? A lot of Christians have become so judgmental, self righteous, and legalistic that I’m not surprised their churches are relatively empty these days; they’ve lost their love; they’ve lost their first love, Jesus.

Many many Christians have become the clanging symbols that the bible speaks about:

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not charity, I am become as sounding brass or a tinkling cymbal.” 1 Corinthians 13:1.

And no, there’s nothing tinkling about them! Christians have become clanging symbols; they are making a mockery out of what Jesus preached we should be.

Voting for a known Seven Mountains Dominionist/Ted Cruz, or a torture-loving, Muslim-fearing bigot/Donald Trump, or someone else similar to both, while insisting that this is best for America? It’s all become so surreal!

Planning to carpet bomb Syria and commit genocide on the families of terrorists…?  I don’t think Christians have a clue what they’re doing anymore.

Jesus must be very sad and disappointed.

In Plain Talk

Once again, Edwin Christian lays it down, hard. Don’t miss this!

I am frustrated! Why you ask? I am frustrated because most of the people who read my blog, only see what is written on the page. They read over it, not taking the time to discover what is really being said with all the words. Words, just words!

With my last two blog posts: The Angel Within and In Plain Sight I received about 100 e-mails, facebook comments or text messages. Most of them made cute of the post, some of them were serious. From: I never gave it any thought that we could have Angels around us, to I know what you mean when I backed into my closed gate twice before I realized it was not open. One comment told me the reader saw the light: You succeeded in pointing out that God gives a narrow window in which we discover life and love!

We are led, sometimes…

Ted Cruz & Dominionism

“Dominionists believe they are engaged in an epic battle against the forces of Satan. They live in a binary world of black and white. They feel they are victims, surrounded by sinister groups bent on their destruction. They have anointed themselves as agents of God who alone know God’s will. They sanctify their rage. This rage lies at the center of the ideology. It leaves them sputtering inanities about Barack Obama, his corporate-sponsored health care reform bill, his alleged mandated suicide counseling or “death panels” for seniors under the bill, his supposed secret alliance with radical Muslims, and “creeping socialism.” They see the government bureaucracy as being controlled by “secular humanists” who want to destroy the family and make war against the purity of their belief system. They seek total cultural and political domination.

All ideological, theological and political debates with the radical Christian right are useless. It cares nothing for rational thought and discussion. Its adherents are using the space within the open society to destroy the open society itself. Our naive attempts to placate a movement bent on our destruction, to prove to it that we too have “values,” only strengthen its supposed legitimacy and increase our own weakness.

Dominionists have to operate, for now, in what they see as the contaminated environment of the secular, liberal state. They work with the rest of us only because they must. Given enough power — and they are working hard to get it — any such cooperation will vanish. They are no different from the vanguard described by Lenin or the Islamic terrorists who shaved off their beards, adopted Western dress and watched pay-for-view pornography in their hotel rooms the night before hijacking a plane for a suicide attack. The elect alone, like the Grand Inquisitor, are sanctioned to know the truth. And in the pursuit of their truth they have no moral constraints.”

To God Alone

“To God Alone”

Can You take me by the hand?
Can You use me as I am?
Break me into who You want me to be

When the time is finally right
Will You open up my eyes
And show me everything You want me to see?
This life is not my own

To God alone be the glory
To God alone be the praise
Everything I say and do
Let it be all for You
The glory is Yours alone
Yours alone

Take the offering I bring
You want more than what I sing
Can I give You every part of me?

Turn these pennies into gold
Take this life I call my own
Until I’m running after Your heart
I’m needing to let go

To God alone be the glory
To God alone be the praise
Everything I say and do
Let it be all for You
The glory is Yours alone

We will rise and we will fall
But You remain after all
You’re glorious and beautiful
You’re beautiful

To God alone be the glory
To God alone be the praise
Everything I say and do
Let it be all for You
The glory is Yours alone

The glory is Yours alone
Yours alone
Yours alone

Guest Post: Christian and Transgender

Guest writer on April’s blog posting important truth!

April's avatarRevolutionary Faith

Does God love Transgender people?

Megan Megan H.

Can a person be Christian and Transgender?

I believe the answer to both of those questions is yes, and I will explain why I think so in a future post.

Today’s guest post is from Megan H., a Transgender woman who loves God and seeks to honor him by loving others. She blogs at www.finallymegan.com and advocates for others in the Transgender community. I reached out to Megan on social media and invited her to tell her story here. I realize this is a controversial topic and not everyone will agree. But I humbly ask that you read Megan’s words with an open heart and ask yourself, “Do I truly believe God accepts everyone who loves Him?”

* * * * *

Ihave known that I was Transgender since I was a child. I did not learn the term until I was in my 20’s, but I knew…

Those ‘Marginal’ People

Pastor Bryan writes another winner….

Bryan Lowe's avatarBroken Believers

A broken heart

“Light shines in the darkness for the godly.
They are generous, compassionate, and righteous.”

Psalm 112:4, NLT

The Glory of Jesus lies in this: in weakness, vulnerability, and apparent failure He has called forth disciples to come after Him, willing and able to carry the cross and relive His passion with compassion.

They are marginal people, not part of the scene, irrelevant to the “action.” In their ministry or quiet presence they do not need to win or compete. They may look like losers, even to themselves.

The world ignores them. But they are building “the Kingdom of God” on earth by reaching out in vulnerability and weakness to share the suffering of  their brothers and sisters.

Where the compassionate One is, there will His servants be.”

Another Christmas, 2015

It’s almost Christmas Day, but still Christmas Eve for a few more minutes….

I wanted to wish all of you readers a very Merry Christmas and let you know I appreciate you reading here.

Things are very quiet at my little homestead in the country; I’m all alone here except for my assortment of animal friends, the fur-family.

My daughter is away at the hospital dealing with her Bipolar Disorder. Thankfully, she is receiving a new medication and I pray that this time we’ll find the right recipe that will work with her particular body chemistry and allow her to be happy and productive in her life again. She’s been suffering for a very long time now and having a terrible daily living experience. May our Father in Heaven give her peace and allow her a beautiful life that she can appreciate. I will be thankful just to have her back home again, though every caregiver needs time to recuperate and recover. I thank God for allowing me this time of peace and rest to myself the last few days, but it’s Christmas; I’m ready for my young lady to be back in her home, watching Christmas movies and drinking eggnog, etc., while we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

I hope this brief update finds all of you living well and loving even better!

There is so much hate, angst, and downright evil in the world right now. We have to combat that with the beauty of Jesus Christ ilumminating the murky darkness. We are the flashlight He shines through, please remember that!

Love a lot, everybody!

Merry Christmas,

Adrienne

What Jesus Taught

Posted by: the warrioress | December 4, 2015

Die By the Sword

“Put your sword back in its place,” Jesus said to him, “for all who draw the sword will die by the sword.”

Matthew26:52

Christendom is caught up with the angry, fearful world’s demand to turn America into a nation of civilian soldiers at the ready. We will become a modern-day “Gunsmoke,” if some have their way.

Everyone will be carrying concealed weapons, where ever my feet may tread.

As I watch from my window seat, I’m astonished that Christ’s very own, His special born again-chosen, have blood lust in their eyes and hearts.

They are quite literally terrified! So much for faith.

Of what?

Terrorism. Domestic terror even. Threats of physical harm and real murders plotted and carried out by America’s enemies.

“Don’t take our guns from us!” they scream in anguish and wrath. “I will protect myself and my family!”

“The President is a traitor. He doesn’t care about me!” “The President is evil. He is an evil Muslim. Impeach him!”

The macho promises of vengeance and their rage ring out, assuring all of us in America that they will go down fighting; for they are now in control.

No thought to God from what I can see. No thought to see what God may have said.

“We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone. See that no one repays another with evil for evil, but always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people.  Rejoice always.”  1Thes 5:16

“You have heard that it was said, ‘AN EYE FOR AN EYE, AND A TOOTH FOR A TOOTH.’
“But I say to you, do not resist an evil person; but whoever slaps you on your right cheek; turn the other to him also. If anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, let him have your coat also.”  Matthew 5:38-40
Do not say, “I’ll pay you back for this wrong!” Wait for the LORD, and he will avenge you. Proverbs 20:22

Do not say, “I’ll do to them as they have done to me; I’ll pay them back for what they did.” Proverbs 24:29
“You shall not murder.” Exodus 20:13

“‘Do not pollute the land where you are. Bloodshed pollutes the land, and atonement cannot be made for the land on which blood has been shed, except by the blood of the one who shed it. Numbers 35:33

“You shall not murder.” Deuteronomy 5:17

And now…we read what God has said.  Above.

God has been very clear, but there are those who want to argue; they must have their way!

“We know better,” they’ll tell me.

“We know what God really meant!  Jesus doesn’t want us to lay down and be killed.  No, we’ll interpret this the way WE want to.”

“Shut up!  You’re a liberal. You’re not a Christian.  Don’t try to push that pacifist stuff onto me.”

But they mocked God’s messengers, despised his words and scoffed at his prophets until the wrath of the LORD was aroused against his people and there was no remedy. 2 Chronicles 36:16

“You serpents, you brood of vipers, how will you escape the sentence of hell? “Therefore, behold, I am sending you prophets and wise men and scribes; some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues, and persecute from city to city, so that upon you may fall the guilt of all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.  Matthew 25:33-35

“And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.” Isaiah 2:4

More Cross Scriptures:
Genesis 9:6
“Whoever sheds human blood, by humans shall their blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made mankind.

Exodus 21:12
“Anyone who strikes a person with a fatal blow is to be put to death.

Revelation 13:10
“If anyone is to go into captivity, into captivity they will go. If anyone is to be killed with the sword, with the sword they will be killed.” This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God’s people.

 Exodus 20:13
“You shall not murder.

Exodus 21:12
“Anyone who strikes a person with a fatal blow is to be put to death.

Leviticus 24:17
“‘Anyone who takes the life of a human being is to be put to death.

Please also read this posting that I wrote a couple of years ago on this topic; I have grown a lot since then, but it’s still very interesting and  useful, I think.

Live By the Sword, Die By the Sword
