The above expresses my frustration and my feelings perfectly. These days, I feel that I can recognize real Christians by how they treat the president of the United States. God has given us explicit instructions about our leaders in government and what is expected out of our behavior, public and private, where they are concerned. Many Christians do not give a hoot what God has said in that bible they allegedly read.
I’m certainly not perfect either in my daily life, but I am continually seeking others wiser than myself in the ways of the Lord to learn from and model myself after as I grow spiritually. People who mistreat our president are not people I want to emulate or learn from.
There are Christians who do not understand why I defend and stand up for President Barack Obama. I could write lengthy posts about various reasons, but the most important reason is because I have always treated the president of the USA with respect; I treat the office with respect and I trust that God has allowed the leader in office to guide our country for whatever His reasons — I don’t question that.
This particular president has affected my life personally, and the life of my daughter. He created a health care policy that saved our booties when her father died and her medicines cost thousands of dollars that we didn’t have. Her health insurance was cancelled because my ex husband had died, but Obamacare picked up our slack, thank God, and right before Christimas too. My child now has an excellent Humana policy that I am paying for and am able to afford thanks to this president! He cared. He really cared about US.
I see this president expressing concern, love, and positivity about moving our country in a more compassionate direction for all. He cares about all of us, not just the one percent or the half that suits him. We all count with President Barack Obama, even the hateful, mean, ugly-acting people.
This president is honorable, ethical, compassionate, and he does what he says he’s going to do. He keeps his promises. No matter the good he does, though, it’s not good enough for half of America. What’s really odd is that at least a quarter of those who hate him struggle financially just like I do. Go figure that they support the side that loves the rich and promotes the rich and could care less about the poor! This just seems illogical to me, unrealistic, and impractical.
It infuriates me when I see people I love and care about picking on this president, when he can do no right no matter what he does. I am sickened by this behavior, especially from alleged Christian people who claim to love the Lord. At any rate, I know I must contain my anger and simply pray for these people because it is up to God to judge them, not I. They are spreading hate, not love. They have bought into the darkness of this world and don’t even know it. It makes me very, very sad to watch their behavior, read their posts, and listen to their lies. Examples:
Obama is a closeted, secret Muslim.
Obama hates America.
Michelle is a man.
Obama is gay.
Obama wants to destroy America.
Obama is the antichrist.
Obama has no plan, no strategy to deal with ISIS ….and other sundry blatant lies.
These people should be ashamed of themselves! They are dishonest. And as for the racist comments?
“Get that niger out of the white house!” (yes, someone I’ve known for years, on my friend’s list, misspelled “nigger,” — that right there should tell you something). It tells you that he is spouting PURE IGNORANCE and is UNEDUCATED and REDNECK. And I don’t mean these adjectives as something to be proud of.
I lost this friend because of his “nigger” comment the other day on my Facebook wall. I don’t think I can be friends with someone who is that racist; it just sickens me too much. What do I have in common that I can share with a person who hates an individual because of the color of his skin?
When I see alleged Christians lying and spreading falsehoods about the president, I know they’ve lost their way. When I confront them about this and they make excuses, defend their actions, or just blithely continue in their despicable behavior, I realize I am powerless to change them. Only God can change their hearts and I surely do hope He does so in this lifetime. I would hate to be in their shoes when they stand before Him.
Anyway, I could go on and on about why I respect and appreciate President Obama, but I think you get the gist of what I’m saying. I respect the office first and foremost, no matter who resides within it. I think this president has done a fine job as president so far and I stand up for him for all of these reasons.
