Darkness. Ugliness. They are everywhere of late, aren’t they? We can’t turn on our televisions, computers, or radio without hearing about them in one form or another.
Mom’s drowning their children, murdering them, starving them, beating mere toddlers to death. Kids butchering whole families for the money or because their parents were trying to set limits and boundaries and just be good parents.
Never-ending death and destruction. Hundreds and even thousands lost through natural disasters. Missing planes — lots and lots of inexplicable death. School slayings, whether by gun or by knife.
A world gone crazy-mad.
Bigotry, vengeance, anger, rage, hatred, argument, arrogance, dishonesty, evil, trickery, greed, warnings, fire and brimstone, punishment, anger, hate, more warnings, fear, always fear. Preaching fear, preaching hate. And then more fear.
Night is all around us now, but within those of us who know God, (really know Him), there is light.
It is this light that people on earth need to see now — light is so rare these days.
Are we showing people of our world this light? Do our posts, blogs, and lives bring them into knowledge of this light? Are we a living canvas of His light?
It’s hard to live in the light. It’s so pure, so beautiful, so rare. So real! I’m not sure if there are many of us who can be good living examples of the light of God’s love, mercy, and compassion, of who He is — who Jesus Christ is. It’s really difficult to show the world this kind of light day in and day out…
This is what being a missionary for Christ is all about, though. It’s what Christ’s disciples tried to be and show when they walked this earth.
Do we reflect Jesus?
Do our writings draw the reader toward God?
Revelation 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

Challenging! When we, the redeemed, allow the love, joy and peace of Christ to shine forth from us, HE will draw others to Himself. May we be faithful to our calling!

We are the light of Jesus and He shines through us. Be the shining example of His Love!
“I like your Christ, I do not like your Christians. Your Christians are so unlike your Christ.”
Mahatma Gandhi
As Christian’s we set a pretty poor example of Jesus.
