    I meet Republican who carry around the constitution and when I was in China in the 80s, people were still carrying around Mao’s little redbook. I have met Hindus who carry around the Bhagavad Gita and many more folks who carry a book and treat is as sacred as this poster promotes. Such a reflex is generic. Personally, I love when folks keep reading each other’s stuff and think for themselves. Bible-alotry can be dangerous to society and yourself. Most folks I see doing this are clutching it with a fist like a weapon or clutching it trembling as a life-saver. Both clutchings tell us more about the person then about the book — be it Hindu, Maoist or Christian.

    But jeez, is clutching Facebook any better? I think not. People are funny creatures and the mask of our philosophies or our theologies are merely that — coverings for who we are afraid to expose.

    I haven’t stopped by in a while — have you missed me? 😉

    What if we treated GOD Himself that way…never going anywhere without Him, always in communication with Him, feeling “naked” without Him? May it be so!! May we walk with Him in constant communion by the power of His Spirit…our Holy connection that NEVER fails or loses service. The only thing blocking us is US.

    Of course I’ve missed you. I have stopped by your blog, but haven’t felt that my comments were appropriate because they were brief and not very thoughtful, frankly. I’m just not inclined to argue and debate about too much these days. My passion for doing so seems to have ebbed. (hugs) Adrienne

    Why not just call yourself Adrienne and not “the warrioress” — and prove to us that your passion for arguing and debate against evil heathens has ebbed. Instead you seem to be trying to soften the Religious Right while trying to argue that you are still orthodox (even if unintentionally).

    You are right, my site usually asks for thought out positions and careful considerations outside our own boxes — hard to make cause “Wow, you touched me Sister?” comment there! 😉

    Still waiting for the fake picture, the iron clad image and the moniker to change. I think you want them to change to.

    My passion for arguing & debating Christians has not ebbed it would seem. 😉 And yeah, I am still orthodox.. no matter who thinks to the contrary.

    Yah like that, Adrienne? Yeah, most bloggers have opinions they either want to broadcast or debate — or they wouldn’t blog, would they. I think all bloggers have more in common with each other than they imagine. Think about the folks you meet who wouldn’t imagine blogging.

    “Orthodox” is such a funny word, when you study the history of Christianity. In my Christian days, my year-long study of Christian theology (at Wheaton College), transformed my thinking. I saw the long history of various types of Christianities, the various co-existing contradictory theologies and the flux of orthodoxy as related to political power and fads. Have you done a historical study of Christianity? Which books?
