I have to say that once again, I am incredibly ashamed to be associated by name with those who worship God, who would encourage a little child to express himself in this fashion, shown in this video.
I don’t say this to be politically correct by any means, because I don’t support gay marriage and am not a politically correct person; but as a Christian and a follower of Jesus Christ, we are to love everyone, including and not limited to those within the LGBT community.
This is sick and wrong. This does not show the loving, non-condemning side of Jesus Christ. This does not show the love of God. This is a “people-thing,” and is thus akin to gossip, hatred, strife, bickerings, and leading people away from our Lord.
Remember what God said about that….
But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea. – Matthew 18:6
I’m afraid these unfortunate church-goers are going to have a lot to answer for when they stand before Jesus Christ our Lord.
An Indiana pastor is reportedly fielding death threats after footage surfaced of his congregation going wild for a tiny tot singing an anti-gay hymn. The clip went viral on Wednesday and features a young boy crooning a song about God and bible verses, including the lyrics, “Ain’t no homo gonna make it to heaven.”
Since it hit the blogosphere, the church, identified as the Apostolic Truth Tabernacle Church in Greensburg, Indiana, has received harassing phone calls, and its pastor, Jeff Sangl, has even gotten death threats at home, members told TMZ.com. The website reports the church is “on lockdown” and members are taking turns watching over the property. Sangl fears for his safety and he and his wife fled for vacation
Wednesday morning without telling anyone where they were going, one member told TMZ.com. Representatives of the church could not be reached for comment by the Daily News. Viewers online were jolted by the video — and by how young its star appears to be. Gawker writer Neetzan Zimmerman likened the video to child abuse. “What makes this particular demonstration of intolerance so shocking is just how young this congregant is. Believing him to be no older than five, some are calling the church’s treatment of the boy out-and-out child abuse.”
Others were appalled by the congregation’s overwhelmingly positive response to the performance. “Listen to the applause he’s getting for spouting hate!” wrote one commenter on YouTube. Author Anne Rice posted the video on her Facebook page, writing: “In this country, Christians can teach toddlers to hate and to persecute, and we, through the automatic tax exemption for churches, foot the bill.”
Despite the uproar and reported threats, church members told TMZ.com they don’t regret that the video surfaced online. “The people who are upset just don’t reach the word of God,” an unnamed member of the church told the website. “If we don’t teach the children the truth early they will never learn. “Of course we applauded a child who is singing a song about God.”

The behavior of people like that really disgusts me. Just like the…what is it..Westboro Baptist Church? I’m in agreement with you.

I have heard people say things in church that went against everything that Jesus taught .. but they get so caught up in “their church” that they miss the big picture. Having that little boy sing that was so wrong .. if the pastor really feels that way then he should have sang it .. but you know it wouldn’t have been as cute if he would have sang it .. I’m being sarcastic .. but it’s the truth .. it’s what he was thinking and the child has no idea what it means… he’s just singing a church song.. sooo sad.

Me too…
They are definitely leading this child into sin. Jesus Christ wanted us to love our neighbor as ourselves. He didn’t tell us that gays were an exception to this rule. Rubbing someone’s face into their sin isn’t loving, godly, or what Christ would have done.

It is sad, Pat. It’s Pharisee-like. I’m sure these good church folk will get an earful about their behavior though; God’s always real good about making our errors clear to us, one way or another ;)…..

Yeah, being intoerant won’t helps anyone learn to understand what causes the gay to be… well… gay! This article will show anyone the simple reason why most gays are … well… militant about their lifestyles… it’s the forbidden thirlls that gets them off, that’s the simple thing that helps me understand them, so it’s great to read this and not worry about the gay thing being more important than what htey thinks it really is. Nohting more than titillating, that’s all.
http://barbarahartwell.blogspot.com/2009/03/truth-about-homosexuality-carl-f-worden.html
So this article helps to understand why they are the way they are, and it helps us to undersand that they’re not aliens, but are just like us with a particular liking for a particular lifestyle, so all they needs to know is that it’s killing them, so with a better understanding such health problbems can be minimised and then, who knows, they’ll be able to weaned themselves out of being… well… gay! It’s not that hard, It only seems hard when it’s been a thrill for these… well… gays!
As for pickig on them, it’s not their fault. Think about it, one day something happens that just rocks you and you likes it so much, you get in situations that rocks you and then it’sw a lifestyle, and you see no way out of it, so you think it becomes normal, but then this kind of lifestyle makes you have problems with your insides and so it is a good idea to figure out how to wean off the destructive lifestyles and change the thrill to a different safer thrills that don’t result in self-destructive behaviours and such.
Now, as adults, we’re supposed to be a little bit wise and not given to slagging off at anyone who’s different, strange, or weird, we needs to be a bit understanding and forgiving and most of all, not teach little kids that doesn’t ahve the maturity that we supposedly do, to sing silly songs that slags off at folks that practises things a bit differently simply because they’re stuck in the hells of their thrills and needs encouragment and understanding to help them climb out of the hells up into sanity, okay. No worries!

these things are very disturbing to aplaud a child in this manner is not right, then there is video in reply of the chold of a gay man saying they are born gay so let me set the record straight for both the child and gay behavior.
one a four year old has no business knowing anything about sex, or anything of this matter. this is not behavior becoming a minister. gays are bron with an extra feminine chromosome, this does not mean they act on this behavior because it is an abomination to God, females are born with a masculine chromosome, which means that people with these extra things are meant to do a specific job that only he knows and has planned, then the homosexuals say the bible is personal and how paul is full of pride and how there are a lot os mistakes like God didn’t say he didn’t want divorce moses said that well like it says in the end times there will be people who say there I am or here I am and claim to know me but I know them not. the world today is not the world of yesterday, so that is why we as christians need to heed to God’s word and study it , stay in it, meditate on it and put it in our hearts for situations such as this. There will be a day when all bibles are taken away and we will have to know this book by heart and know its interpretations in thereof in order to lead more and more people to christ to expand the kingdom of God and we can not do this sitting on the sidelines. get up and do as jesus commanded love our neighbor as our self . love the sinner not the sin and know how to rely on the holy spirit to guide and help you as you witness and do the work of God changing one heart at a time saving one soul at a time. But I do think it will get worse before it gets better.

Well, that’s certainly a different way of looking at homosexuality, Alex. I tend to see it psychologically-speaking, based upon a counseling education background, but then there is the bible that tells us something completely different. When all is said and done, I defer to the bible because it hasn’t let me down yet, truth-wise. It’s a rock we can build a strong foundation on that isn’t like the sands of this world … constantly shifting, deceptive, enabling, and tolerant to the point of harm. Jesus showed us how to behave and God has made Him our example in word and heart. Thanks for your thoughts.

Not sure if you’ve even read this blog, based upon your comment. It doesn’t exactly make sense, based upon what I’m saying in this post. Perhaps don’t jump to conclusions based only on the title of the post and actually read it. Maybe? 🙂

Maybe the Pastor needs to think about “He who is without sin cast the first stone”. Has anyone tried to engage with this pastor and explain what he has done is wrong and why. Normally this behaviour comes from not having a real relationship with Jesus daily and meditating in the Word regularly. Without Jesus who is the Word we are nothing accept clanging symbols.

Any article that refers to Paul Cameron is utter crap – his study (giggle) has since been seriously debunked. & even w/the religious language subtracted, I was laughing Worth’s idiocy.

So all you folks are against gay marriage, but are also against persecuting homosexuals?
I guess that makes the lot of you ‘moderate’ homophobes then.

Uh, no, those are intersexuals – it would help if you actually knew what you were talking about.
Your imaginary friend has some kind of problem, cursing someone with this sort of nonsense in the 1st place. Do you not see how contradictory all this is?
& no one will ever know, from cradle to grave. Oh but wait: file that under ‘mysterious ways’.
What folderol.

You might attempt to read the bible and discover what it says is the reason for why men and women have turned to their own sex. God didn’t curse gay people nor did He create them gay.. again, not according to what is written in the bible at any rate.
You are insulting and denigrating in your speech, not to mention hostile. You are a prime example of the militant atheism I was discussing a couple posts ago. Just because you choose not to believe doesn’t give you the right to insult those of us who do. Have some respect and courtesy for others; this is exactly why militant atheists are not popular with anyone but other militants.

When we support gay marriage so that gays can have their civil rights, (supposedly), we then have to support the endless train of other alternative couplings demanding theirs.. the polygamous, man and beast, man and boy, man and object, and what’s next? I’m not a homophobe. Not in the least. I simply don’t favor redefining marriage.

Why, surprise! I have read the bible.
I was responding to what Bobby was rattling on about.
Sorry, rank ignorance brings that out of me.

Are…are you joking? That’s the single stupidest argument against gay marriage EVER. Gay marriage is about two consenting ADULTS. Beasts can’t consent, nor objects, nor children. If the rest of those nutters want in on it, they can just bugger off.
Really, seriously, you whine constantly about tone, but your opinions make absolutely no sense whatsoever.
By: KA on June 18, 2012

No, I’m not joking at all.
I have links to prove that the polygamous are being encouraged to apply for their civil right to marry; they are actually receiving help from the gay community. I have no doubt that the incestuous unions and the many other aberrant couplings will soon attempt the same.
My opinions possibly make no sense to you because you can only see one point of view clearly and yes, that is your own. Carry on. You’re entitled to your own opinions, just as I am, whether they make sense or not.

A reply seems fairly pointless, KA; if you have read the bible, then you obviously didn’t comprehend what you read. Where do we go from here? Nowhere quick, evidently. Thanks for your participation. It’s been enlightening.

For someone who likes to sling the ad hominem accusation around, you seem to rather use it quite a bit. Yes, I did indeed comprehend what I read. In fact, I’m quite well-informed on the topic. Unlike most people, I don’t shoot my mouth off unless I’m informed on a topic.

I hope you have some serious proof outside some obnoxious skewed blog, or some right-wing talking head. Show me some actual links where the gay community actually lead protests in support of it.
Again – ridiculous. This is the logical fallacy of reductio ad absurdum. You have zero proof that this will happen.
No, I understand your point clearly – it’s just that your opinion is stupid, is all.
Nobody’s entitled to an opinion: they’re entitled to an INFORMED opinion. All opinions are most certainly NOT equal. Facts are not just opinions: they are proven real.
